PACE has multiple storage types, each with different quotas (limitations)
home: Limited by 5GB, not quota on number of files
data (gpfs pace1, pace2, menon1 etc): Storage quota is defined by the PI of the cluster per user, there is a global limit of 2 Million files/dirs for each user, which cannot be modified.
scratch (scratch1): 7TB storage quota, with a global limit of 1 Million files/dirs for each user, which cannot be modified.
How to check quota:
Run "pace-quota". E.g.:
$ pace-quota User : user123 ======= Checking 'home' ======= Current usage : 3.8G Hard limit : 5G Full path : /nv/hp16/user123 ======= Checking 'data' ======= Current usage : 1.368T <= OK Hard limit : 4T file/dir usage : 3614786 <= PROBLEM!! file/dir limit : 2000000 Full path : /gpfs/pace2/project/pf2/user123 ======= Checking 'scratch' ======= Current usage : 119M Hard limit : 7T Full path : /gpfs/scratch1/9/user123
